Sony DAV-FX100W Wireless Home Theatre Dream System Review

As soon as you lay eyes on this wireless home cinema system you will realise that we are talking about a very classy and stylish piece of equipment. If we ignore the functionality for just a minute and only consider the purely aesthetic qualities on offer then it is hard not to fall for the Sony DAV-FX100W.

But what does it do, and does it do it well? After all, you don’t just want a system which looks good but doesn’t give you the performance you are after. Well, it is a complete entertainment system for your home, with powerful speakers, a 5 disc DVD player, AM / FM receiver and lots of different connectivity options.

The speaker sound is one of the big draws for this system, and because of the extra power needed you will find that you need to a run a couple of wires here; other than that the whole thing is completely wireless. The combined power output is a massive 1000 watts, including a 285 watt subwoofer. This makes it ideal for watching movies, listening to music or getting caught up in the red hot atmosphere of a big sports game.

The system works with the following formats; DVD, audio CD, MP3, MPEG, VCD and SACD. In terms of size and weight this is a good package which isn’t good to be too heavy to move from one room to another and certainly won’t take up too much space in the room you use it in. It probably would fit best into a spacious, modern living room but the silver aluminium units could work well in just about room without too many problems.

This isn’t the cheapest home cinema system around, but you are paying for both style and performance with the Sony DAD-FX100W, and if both of these are equally important to you then this is a great choice.
